Posting Summary:
Reporting to the Vice Provost for Online Strategy and TC Academy, the Marketing and Events Manager is an integral part of the TC Academy team. The successful candidate will particularly focus on supporting the launch and promotion of TC Academy’s non-credit offerings.  You will contribute your marketing and events expertise across the 3 pillars that are the focus of TC Academy’s portfolio of programs: executive education, pre-college programs, and K-12 professional development. TC Academy reimagines and transforms the delivery of non-credit programs as a new unit within Teachers College that partners and collaborates with faculty and other stakeholders to design and deliver high-quality non-credit programming. Programs are provided through in-person and online synchronous & asynchronous certificates, courses, CTLE and CEU credits, and workshops, in the leadership, education, health, and psychology fields. TC Academy brings the latest research, best practices, and next practices, to practitioners and students alike, and engages with professionals across a range of fields, with high-quality, accessible, affordable, and just-in-time professional development that is data-driven and aware of market needs.  

Job Summary/Basic Function:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Marketing and Events Manager to join the TC Academy team. This role requires a strong background in digital marketing, email marketing, event planning, project management, and familiarity with Salesforce and other marketing platforms. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing multiple projects, driving engagement, and delivering impactful events. You will be responsible for creating, executing, and measuring marketing campaigns to support campaign goals, manage event logistics, and ensure alignment across all marketing channels. The Marketing and Events Manager will assist in the coordination of marketing plans (new and existing); ensuring that plans stay on budget, meet target dates, and that there is clear communication between stakeholders.

Critically, the Marketing and Events Manager will monitor marketing and communications campaign performance across platforms and connect metrics back to enrollment goals. They’ll focus on lead generation, application nurture and yield. They will also be closely involved in the maintenance of TC Academy web properties, including advertising landing pages.

The Marketing and Events Manager should understand the possibilities of technical tools and maintain familiarity with new marketing technologies and platforms.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Advertising Campaign Coordination 

  • Oversee day-to-day tasks of digital advertising campaigns, work with digital vendors and other internal and external stakeholders, to organize campaign structure, coordinate creative generation, and organize flighting 
  • Work with the vendor and other stakeholders in ensuring all pieces of ad campaign and nurture are in place, including forms, follow-up communications, etc. 
  • Review campaign effectiveness and align on institutional goals 

Email Marketing 

  • Design and execute targeted email marketing campaigns, including automated workflows and drip campaigns. 
  • Segment email lists based on audience insights to improve engagement and conversion rates. 
  • Monitor email performance metrics and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. 

Salesforce Management

  • Maintain and optimize Salesforce for lead tracking, segmentation, and campaign reporting.  
  • Collaborate with the TC Academy and other marketing and communications teams at Teachers College to ensure accurate data flow between marketing and sales processes. 
  • Generate and analyze Salesforce reports to measure campaign performance and provide insights to stakeholders. 

Website Content Management and Evaluation

  • Using Terminal4 CMS, conduct audits; build and update web pages and advertising landing pages; propose new features 
  • Track web update/maintenance schedule 
  • Assist with website content: recommend changes in web architecture, identify content needs, and work closely with faculty, agencies, marketing and communications team, and college stakeholders to rework the TC Academy web presence. (Advanced web development skills not required) 

Content Creation & Collaboration 

  • Work closely with content and creative teams to develop compelling marketing collateral, presentations, and promotional materials. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all channels. 
  • Launch and manage social media channels for TC Academy, creating and curating content to drive traffic 

Project Management & Budgeting 

  • Manage multiple marketing projects and campaigns concurrently, ensuring timely execution and adherence to budget. 
  • Monitor and report on project performance, adjusting as needed to meet business objectives. 

Event Marketing & Planning 

  • Plan, organize, and execute TC Academy events, including conferences, webinars, trade shows, and community outreach programs. 
  • Coordinate logistics, vendor management, and on-site support to ensure seamless event execution. 
  • Develop event marketing plans, promotional strategies, and post-event follow-up to maximize engagement and ROI 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of professional experience, in higher ed, nonprofit, or agency setting
  • Strong experience with analytics tools to render data and drive data-informed decisions, including proficiency in Google Analytics 4
  • Experience or involvement with digital advertising campaigns, particularly in partnership with an external agency
  • Experience running and managing social media channels
  • A solid understanding of marketing channels and performance metrics
  • Experience with web content management systems and basic HTML
  • Experience with web and digital best practices, including accessibility and adherence to legal and privacy regulations
  • Proven project management and event planning skills with experience balancing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Effective interpersonal communication and the ability to collaborate with and influence peers within the team and across departments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in CRM and/or marketing automation platforms like Slate, Salesforce, Marketing Cloud or similar
  • Experience using tools like Hotjar and/or Microsoft Clarity to make user experience recommendations
  • Experience with dashboard creation tools, including Looker Studio and/or Tableau

Salary Range:

$75,000 - $87,000
